CleanBC Plan Paving the Way to Green Future

Will British Columbians be the leader it hopes to be in climate strategy? The BC Government sure hopes so. Yesterday, December 5th, BC announced its clean climate plan! With several steps already underway, including initial implementation of the BC Energy Step Code, incentivising the installation of efficient home energy systems in renovations, and providing a cost incentive for the purchase of zero emissions vehicles(ZEVs), we appear to be emerging as a province that cares about our footprint and legacy we leave for our children.

This is a breath of fresh air, and we look forward to seeing more movement forward as the policies within the CleanBC are enacted. “We’re working towards a future where clean energy powers our homes, businesses and vehicles”- CleanBC

The emphasis on clean energy and improved efficiencies is outstanding. Beyond the implementation of fossil fuel reduction, the CleanBC Plan outlines the expansion of clean vehicle infrastructure, making the transition toward ZEVs more affordable, speeding up the switch to cleaner fuels, showing the value of clean energy through BC’s carbon tax, building better and more energy efficient buildings, achieving cleaner public-sector buildings, providing help for communities to implement these initiatives, reducing waste and turning it into a resource, driving cleaner industry, making BC industries the cleanest in the world, and more!
