There has never been a better time to go solar

And now there’s more good news. As part of the Canada Greener Homes Initiative, starting August 31st, 2022, the government will help Canadians make their homes more energy efficient by offering interest-free financing!
The programme is called the Canada Greener Homes Loan. If you’re eligible, you can receive a loan from $5000 to $40 000, with a 10-year, interest-free, repayable term. All the details, including eligibility requirements as well as the application process can be found here.
To apply for the Canada Greener Homes Loan, a homeowner must be eligible for the Canada Greener Homes Grant, which we talked about earlier, here. This government programme provides a grant and possible reimbursements for the installation of photovoltaic solar panels and the batteries to store your energy.
Canada Greener Homes Initiative
- Canada Greener Homes Loan: Interest-free loan up to $40k, repayable over 10 years.
- Canada Greener Homes Grant: Grants up to $5k to recoup some costs for home retrofit, plus up to $600 towards eligible evaluations.
