While the process for working together to find the appropriate PV system design to meet your needs may vary slightly, this is the general flow of our work together:

Initial Discovery Conversation

During our initial call, we’ll explore your solar goals and discuss your home’s energy usage, laying the foundation for a solar solution that’s tailored to your specific needs. Given the wide range of solar products available today, this crucial first step ensures we identify the most suitable options for you.

Remote Building Model

Using advanced solar modeling software and satellite imagery, we create a detailed building model to accurately assess your roof's shape, size, and slope, ensuring a perfect fit for your solar system. For Existing Homes, many aerial resources are available, and for New Construction a plan set often provides all of the details needed.

Obstruction & Shade Assessment

Utilizing detailed satellite imagery and LIDAR technology, we accurately identify obstructions such as vents, pipes, and chimneys, and assess surrounding trees for height and size. This assessment helps us pinpoint the optimal locations for panel placement on your roof, ensuring maximum sunlight exposure and energy production.

Design of PV System

Following our initial discussion, we create customized PV system designs that reflect your specific needs. This includes considering various system sizes and capabilities from our range of solar solutions, ensuring you get a setup that optimally aligns with your energy goals and site conditions.

Presentation of Options - Review & Selection

Scheduled at your convenience, either virtually or onsite, we explore various tailored solar system designs that align with your specific preferences and property requirements. In this meeting together, we will guide you through a range of options, from system sizes to different capabilities, aiming to provide a clear understanding of each. This session is designed to equip you with the necessary information to make an informed purchasing decision, ensuring that the selected solar solution perfectly matches your energy needs and goals.

Site Visit & System Confirmation

A site visit will be integral to finalizing the design process, allowing us to assess unique aspects of your property that could influence the installation. Ideally conducted after preliminary design choices have been discussed, this visit enables us to verify all elements of the installation plan in person. By closely examining your home's specifics, we ensure that the chosen solar system will be perfectly suited to your property, setting the stage for a smooth project kickoff.

Project Agreement

After navigating through the initial stages and finalizing the system design, we proceed to the Project Agreement. This crucial step solidifies our partnership, where we finalize the details of the system size, components, and any specific project requirements. The agreement serves as a formal commitment, ensuring that all aspects of the solar installation are mutually understood and agreed upon, setting a clear path for the project's commencement.

Project Administrative Setup

We offer a Turn-Key installation, handling all electrical permitting and coordination with BC Hydro for seamless grid interconnection. Our team also facilitates an introduction to our preferred energy advisor partners, ensuring a smooth process for applying for available incentives.

Product Procurement & Project Planning

We procure the specified solar panels, inverters, mounting equipment and associated components from our trusted suppliers. As we progress toward your project, we communicate the project timeline and work with you around events to schedule your project.

System Installation & Commissioning

Our team of certified solar installers and electricians will execute the installation of your solar system, working with you to ensure the plan is understood and that there are no surprises. Once complete, our team conducts a thorough commissioning process to ensure that every component of the solar system functions optimally. This includes testing all inverters for power output, adjusting settings and assessing panel performance.

Quality Assurance & Inspection

NetZero Solar has our own quality assurance process involving a detailed inspection of the solar installation to verify that it has met our standards for installation as well as regulatory inspection from the electrical authority. During the formal inspection process we work with the inspector to ensure all aspects of your project are electrically compliant.

Interconnection Approval & Project Completion

Once installed and inspected, BC Hydro receives our inspection paperwork to provide Interconnection Approval with the grid. We manage the entire process on your behalf to ensuring a streamline connection process. Once approval is granted, we proceed with the official system startup. Following system installation, we fill out a Certificate of Completion together, confirming that you are satisfied with the service received.

Ongoing Service & Support

By guiding you through each phase of the solar installation process, we ensure a seamless and satisfying experience from initial consultation to ongoing support. Trust NetZero Solar to empower your journey towards sustainable energy with expertise and care.
